LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Simon Cowell still has not worked out who the new mentors will be on "The X Factor." Cowell tells "Extra" Fox executives told him at the beginning of the year he had to fire Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger right away. He denies that he's considering Beyonce' as a new mentor. He says he'd love to have Mariah Carey but she's got two small children, he thinks Madonna would be "great" but "expensive," and Katy Perry "would be fun -- and she's feisty."
