The rain drops were absent from Saturday afternoon's Bud Light Mardi Gras River Parade and Festival, but the beads kept pouring. Charlie and the Cool Cats energized the crowd prior to the procession of seven Mardi Gras floats at the Arneson River Theatre. At the rear of the theater, smells of corn tortillas and Cajun seasoning wafted through the cool air, tempting the stomachs of visitors. A family donning Louisiana State University's purple-and-gold colors made the trip down to San Antonio commenting, "We decided to do Mardi Gras somewhere else this year."
