The unusually dry weather has caused Fourth of July fireworks displays to be canceled in San Antonio and other surrounding cities.

However, there are still several fireworks displays a short car ride away, as well as some other shows in the sky.

The City of Kerrville is scheduled to hold it's show Monday night following a concert featuring Kevin Fowler and Charlie Robinson.

Just up I-35, another fireworks show is scheduled in Kyle at the Plum Creek Golf Course. The show begins at 9:30 p.m.

For a more natural spectacle, the Frio Bat Cave is staying open for the holiday. The owners and operators said they normally close on the Fourth, but with all of the cancellations of fireworks shows, they wanted to provide another option. Tickets to the Fourth of July bat show are $2 off the normal price.

There are no fireworks allowed in San Antonio. Call the Bexar County Public Safety Communications Center at 210-335-3473 to report any fireworks.
