AUSTIN - If you're attending the Austin City Limits Musical Festival at Zilker Park during the fall of 2016, look forward to some major upgrades to make your music experience top notch; including better restrooms.
Yes, bathrooms is a major priority for many festival-goers. For the festival's 15th anniversary, every restroom in the park will be upgraded to have environmentally friendly and flushable toilets, according to festival organizers.
So while you're enjoying a few drinks at the new Miller Lite Game Hall and Wine Down bar- have no fear - the dreaded porta-potty won't be there.
While the improved restroom situation is definitely a major perk, it's not the only one. ACL festival organizers said they are adding more CamelBak Hydration Stations that will provide free water as well as misting stations. Some of the tents will also act as a one-stop shop for survival needs like snacks, trail mix, sunscreen, ponchos, allergy relief etc.
Organizers said they have plans to fix crowd flow issues by relocating the Rock Island Stage to create more areas for fans to relax and find shade.
Festival organizers also decided to upgrade the experience for the miniature music lovers. Families taking their kids to Austin Kiddie Limits will now be able to enter through an opening on Barton Springs Road that will now have stroller-friendly lanes at both main gates.
