Rain or shine the US 281/Loop 1604 Interchange continues to make progress. When planning your weekend please take the following closures into consideration and allow more travel time to your commute.

*Loop 1604 Westbound various closures
The Loop 1604 westbound left frontage lane will be closed from US 281 to Hardy Oaks. This closure will include the Loop 1604 westbound Stone Oak exit ramp and the Loop 1604 eastbound to westbound turnaround at US 281 (adjacent to Bill Miller's). Closures are for Saturday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. to allow construction crews to pour concrete. During this time, we anticipate having limited closures of the right Loop 1604 westbound mainlane.
Detour: If traveling Loop 1604 westbound, exit US 281 for Stone Oak. To make the Loop 1604 eastbound to westbound turnaround, use the Loop 1604/ US 281 intersection.
*Various Morning Lane Closures between 7 to 8 a.m. ***Expect Minor Delays***
Construction teams will be blasting rock to excavate the existing rock wall as part of the US 281/Loop 1604 Interchange project. The supervised blast will occur on Loop 1604 between US 281 and Gold Canyon. The closure will occur within a total of 10 minute window on Saturday between the hours of 7 and 8 a.m. Various closures will occur for the safety and precaution of the driving public during the 10 minute limited closure
- Eastbound Frontage Lanes at Loop 1604 between US 281 to Gold Canyon will be closed.
- Limited closures will occur on the Loop 1604 main lanes between Bulverde and Blanco
- Loop 1604 Eastbound right main lane will be closed until 2/13 from US 281 to Gold Canyon
This blast is to create room to construct the exit ramp for the Loop 1604 West to US 281 South direct connector. We encourage drivers to avoid this area during this time if possible. If not possible to avoid this area, please be prepared for delays during this hour.

*US 281 Northbound Main Lane Road Closure from 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. *** Expect Delays***
US 281 northbound main lanes will be closed from the Loop 1604 exit ramp to north of Loop 1604. This closure will allow placement of the approximately 160,000 pound steel cap beam across the main lanes of US 281 to connect the US 281 North to Loop 1604 West direct connector. The main lanes will be closed Sunday from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. We encourage drivers to avoid this area during this time if possible. If not possible to avoid this area, please be prepared for delays during this time.
Detour: Traffic traveling US 281 North will be directed to the Loop 1604 exit ramp, proceed through the US 281/Loop 1604 intersection and follow the frontage road back onto US 281 North.

*Northbound right lane at Gold Canyon/Loop 1604 bridge
The northbound right lane at Gold Canyon bridge will be closed north to allow for drilling around the bridge. The lane closure will begin Friday at 10 p.m. and reopen Monday at 5 a.m.
*Loop 1604 Eastbound left frontage lane
The Loop 1604 eastbound left frontage lane will be closed Friday at 10 p.m. and reopen Monday at 5 p.m. The closure will begin east of Trail Crest to US 281 to allow construction crews to drill.
