A Night in Old San Antonio
April 24-27, 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
NIOSA tops the list because it offers a tasty history lesson on the Alamo City. La Villita village is broken into 15 different sections, with each section representing a different culture that makes San Antonio so diverse. Visitors will be enticed to try a little bit of everything, so come hungry. Really hungry. Start at Frontier Town with a cowboy klopse (a deep-fried meatball in jalapeno batter) and wash it down with an Irish creme in the Irish Flat. Then swing over to the Froggy Bottom for some fried Okra, hit up China Town for some chicken lettuce wraps and then grab a hold of some anticuchos (marinated steak shish kabobs) at the Mexican Market. Go to the NIOSA website for a complete list of food and other entertainment. http://www.niosa.org/FabulousFoods.aspx
