If you watch our show regularly, you know about our very close-knit team at Great Day SA. We're so close, we treat each other like family. And just like family, when someone gets an award, it's something worth mentioning.
Our Senior Producer Kinya Cano was awarded this past weekend.
We've teased her about her belief there's life in outer space. And, you know we've given her grief about "training" for the marathon. You see, we're just like family!
BUT -- what you didn't know is her hometown has had its eye on her for while.
In a town of more than 20,000 people, the city of Seguin's Hispanic Chamber of Commerce honored Kinya for her leadership.
Wow! Leadership!
It's not often you hear about a city's Chamber of Commerce honoring someone other than a business owner, doctor, lawyer or CEO in the community. Kinya hasn't lived in Seguin since she left home for college... and someone noticed her hard work.
This small town girl left with a suitcase and big dreams. Little did she know her love for TV and theatre would take her to producing the number one morning show in San Antonio and to working late nights on The Cleto Show, featuring comedian Cleto Rodriguez. Life has been a whirlwind since she left home.
So from the words of Kinya Cano, "Focus on your goals, because all the hard work will pay off!"
And, in the spirit of Seguin, "Go Matadors!"... but don't forget to throw-in "Go Kinya!"
