Overnight rain southwest of San Antonio sent dozens of oil field workers looking for higher ground. But it took two separate rescues to get them to safety.
Officials say that 46 workers were rescued for a site just outside Vesper Ranch in Cotulla, Texas in LaSalle County. The water reportedly came in so fast with so little warning that the workers had to stand on top of their cars and machinery in their search for higher ground.
And they were stuck there for several hours.
Border Patrol and game warden vehicles aided in the rescue.
A similar situation also happened on Tuesday around 8 a.m. near Dimmit Country at the Sanchez Oil & Gas work site. Officials say that 65 people were rescued from high waters there.
