The United States will once again host the CONCACAF Gold Cup this year and two of the matches will take place in the Alamodome.

Tickets have just gone on sale for the two-match session online. You can buy the tickets here.

The two games will take place on Sunday, July 16. The first match will feature Jamaica (last year's runner-up) vs. El Salvador and the second will be Mexico vs. Curacao.

Mexico has won three of the last four Gold Cups.

The Gold Cup has significance beyond the winner being declared the best team in CONCACAF. The 2017 Gold Cup winner also has a chance to qualify for the Confederations Cup, a high-profile tournament featuring the best national teams in the world played the year before the World Cup (often in the same country, but not in 2021).

If the 2017 Gold Cup winner goes on to win the 2019 tournament, they'll be entered into the 2021 Confederations Cup automatically. If the two teams are different, then a playoff will occur with the winner advancing. Mexico will represent CONCACAF at this year's Confederations Cup after beating the United States in a playoff.
