The high school football regular season is almost over and the stakes are getting higher and higher. Week 9 was not short on drama and incredible performances.

Among the highlights, the Alamo Heights Mules scored late to beat Boerne Champion and pull into a tie for tops in the district championship race, Smithson Valley dominated Judson for the Rangers' fifth straight win, Churchill took care of MacArthur 42-7, and the O'Connor Panthers stayed perfect in district play with a 56-10 win over Clark.

Meanwhile, the New Braunfels Unicorns defeated the Clemens Buffaloes 35-28 for their third straight win, the Roosevelt Rough Riders got their second district win with a 36-21 victory over Lee, and the Sam Houston Hurricanes beat Jefferson 21-14.
