We’re coming down the stretch of the regular season for high school football. This Friday represented a big night for a lot of schools looking for a district title or making a final push for a playoff spot.
The biggest game was a battle of the undefeateds where the Clemens Buffaloes stayed perfect, handing the Smithson Valley Rangers their first loss of the season 16-10. What a tension-filled game that was as Clemens held on for the victory.
The Brennan Bears and Brandeis Broncos were perfect in district play before their game. Brennan came out on top 39-9. The Judson Rockets maintained their spot among the best in Texas with a 49-14 win over the Wagner Thunderbirds. And the Steele Knights have back-to-back wins for the first time this season as they beat the Canyon Cougars 42-17.

Meanwhile, the Madison Mavericks moved to 2-1 in district with a 52-10 win over the Churchill Chargers. The Memorial Minutemen won their third game in a row defeating the Burbank Bulldogs 59-14. The Warren Warriors won a dandy of a game over the Jay Mustangs 33-28. And finally, the Jefferson Mustangs beat the Kennedy Rockets 29-6.
