SAN ANTONIO - A new development in the criminal case involving State Sen. Carlos Uresti unfolded Monday.
One of Uresti's two co-defendants, former FourWinds Logistics CEO Stan Bates, walked into federal court and pleaded guilty to all nine felony charges against him, including conspiracy to commit fraud.
Bates did not seek a deal with federal prosecutors in pleading guilty.
His sentencing is set for April, and he could be sentenced to decades in prison.
Bates could also be called to testify in Uresti and Gary Cain's trial, which is scheduled to start on Jan. 18.
They are accused of defrauding investors in the failed "frac sand" company.
