SAN ANTONIO - A renovation at the downtown Vista Verde building are now helping people with disabilities access the Bexar County Tax Assessor-Collector's office.
The project provided two counters designed to serve people in wheelchairs and people with other disabilities.
“This project continues with our promise to improve service for our disabled citizens, senior citizens and veterans in our community. These new counters will enable disabled citizens, including those in wheelchairs, to easily conduct transactions in our downtown tax office,” said Bexar County Tax Assessor-Collector Albert Uresti.
Uresti's office said the two new counters will provide a more "comfortable and accessible area."
Restrooms in the building will also be expanded and updated in the future, Uresti said.
