A woman who married a murder suspect just hours after he is accused of fatally shooting an SAPD detective in his patrol unit apparently has a record herself.
Records obtained by KENS 5 show that 27-year-old Christian Fields was arrested at least twice on theft charges in Houston. Fields was placed on two years of probation in lieu of a felony conviction in 2010 for a property theft charge of more than $1,500.
A marriage license obtained by KENS 5 shows that Fields married 31-year-old Otis McKane just before 9:30 a.m. Monday. McKane was arrested around 4:30 p.m. on capital murder charges in the death of Det. Benjamin Marconi, a 20-year SAPD veteran.
At the time of his arrest, police said McKane was traveling in a vehicle near Converse, Tx. with a woman and a 2-year-old child.
It is still not clear if that woman was Fields.
