Wilson County Sheriff's Office investigating crime scene and car crash, leading to closed intersection

There was also a car crash at the same intersection.

WILSON COUNTY, Texas — A man was shot in the leg in Wilson county and rushed to a San Antonio hospital.

The Wilson County Sheriff's Office posted on Facebook on Tuesday morning that they were working a crime scene at the intersection of FM 3432 and County Road 324.

They later provided details to KENS 5, saying that around 3 a.m., they received a call for a person who was shot. After the man was stabilized and taken to a hospital, a car crash took place at the same intersection, leading to major traffic delays.

As for the shooting, authorities investigated and found the altercation initially began in 700 block of Live Oak. The man who was shot was taken to County Road 324 in a truck where EMS met him. He was then taken to the hospital. As of 10 a.m. on Tuesday, they were still processing the crime scene.

The sheriff's office said that the shooter used a rifle; the weapon has been recovered. Witnesses are being interviewed, but authorities said the suspects are still at large. As of now, the reason behind the shooting has not been reported.

Deputies said they have received phone calls for the 700 block of Live Oak before, but did not report what they calls were about.
