A massive fire destroyed a north-side house after an explosion inside, according to the San Antonio Fire Department. Two men were in the home at the time and have been hospitalized with serious burns.

The fire spread so fast that dozens of crews were called out to help fight it.

The flames broke out around 5:30 p.m. Friday at a home in the 200 block of Rockhill Drive.

Fire officials said that two men were doing some flooring inside when they somehow caused an explosion. They were rushed to the hospital with severe burns. Officials did not provide an update on their condition.

With the fire quickly spreading throughout the home, the home’s location made putting the fire out a challenge.

The house ended up collapsing, forcing crews to fight it from the outside. No firefighters were hurt.

Determining the cause of the fire with be tough because the home was destroyed.
