The thought of getting your next 10 grande iced lattes for free sounds wonderful! In fact, there's an offer for a free $50 Starbucks gift card circulating on Facebook that's gone viral.

So we wanted to Verify: Is it real?

The promotional post on Facebook says to share the post and type in the comment "thanks" to get your $50 coupon within four hours.

Thousands of people have commented and thousands have shared the post, which is on a Facebook page called "Starbucks USA." This should be one red flag that the offer is fake. The company's official Facebook page is simply Starbucks.

KENS 5 contacted Starbucks and they responded by email verifying this is not a gift card offer from Starbucks. In fact, the fake gift card promotion has been around for a few years.

However, plenty of people responded on the post that they did exactly what the post asked and never got their coupon, also verifying that the offer is a fake.

On a brighter note, the legitimate Starbucks Facebook page is advertising a real promotion you might like. Now through July 2, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., you can buy any grande iced espresso beverage and get one free.
