With Governor Greg Abbott announcing a plan to re-build Texas, many of us have heard about FEMA jobs on the coast.

In fact, there have been rumors that FEMA needs field inspectors with no experience required who will also be paid thousands of dollars a week.

We wanted to Verify if FEMA was really hiring field inspectors who will earn between $2,000 and $5,000 per week.

We checked with FEMA to get the details and it turns out, the claim is half-true.

FEMA is, of course, very busy along the Texas coast from Corpus to Beaumont, preparing to rebuild communities. FEMA is hiring and said they need sign language interpreters, floodplain specialists, and others.

However, there is no guarantee of the expected pay or a timeline for how long the jobs will last.

So, we can Verify the claim is only partially true.

Yes, the government is hiring for the recovery, but you will not earn thousands of dollars per week and there are specific job requirements.

All the information is available on the FEMA website.
