A three-car collision sent an elderly couple and one woman to the hospital in New Braunfels Wednesday.

Police said the t-bone crash happened around 12:40 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 46 South at Mary Boulevard.

New Braunfels police said a 58-year-old man coming from Austin accidentally accelerated his Chevy Equinox into the intersection coming off of Mary Boulevard, with an elderly couple in the back seat.

The Equinox slammed into a Toyota Prius carrying a 55-year-old woman.

The collision blocked both northbound lanes of Highway 46 South.

A Ford van driven by a 21-year-old girl then slammed into the Prius.

The crash closed the road for 45 minutes.

The 82-year-old female and 85-year-old male in the back of Equinox were transported to University Hospital and suffered non-life threatening injuries. Their driver was uninjured.

The female driver of the Prius was also transported to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Ford was uninjured.

No tickets were issued and no charges are expected to be filed.
