A man accused of robbing the Sephora in the La Cantera area was taken into custody after San Antonio police received several tips on his whereabouts.

Raymond Claire, 33, is accused of robbing the make-up store in broad daylight on September 30.

An employee who attempted to stop Claire ended up with a strained arm after trying to wrestle the merchandise away from him. The make-up bandit was able to get away.

A witness with a concealed carry handgun attempted to stop the suspect by firing at the getaway car. Several witnesses were able to get a description of the man and a picture of the car.

An affidavit shows that after surveillance video was broadcasted out to the city, community tips began rolling into the San Antonio’s Crime Stoppers unit.

On October 26, the Sephora employee identified him out of a lineup and he was booked into a Bexar County jail according to the affidavit.

Claire faces the felony charge of robbery with bodily injury.
