San Antonio Spurs forward Rudy Gay will be out for at least two weeks with a heel injury, the team announced Friday afternoon.

Gay underwent an MRI examination Friday morning in San Antonio, the team said. The exam revealed that Gay has right retrocalcaneal bursitis.

He has started a rest and rehabilitation program and will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

Retrocalcaneal bursitis is an inflammation of the bursa, which is a cushioning sac that lies over the heel where the Achilles tendon inserts.
