SAN ANTONIO -- A man wounded from gunfire showed up at the Children's Hospital of San Antonio. Police said he was more than six miles away from the scene where he had been shot.
The 30-year-old victim told officers he was shot in the 2000 block of Bandera Road before 4 a.m. Thursday. He and two witnesses remember the gunfire coming from a blue or gray BMW. A preliminary report states the victim was shot in the thigh. He kept driving to the hospital.
Investigators said the victim's SUV was shot around eight times. He was transferred to University Hospital.
Officers at the scene described the victim and one witness as uncooperative. A female witness gave police a statement.
The shooters face a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
