SAN ANTONIO - The “Bathroom Bill” is on its way to the Texas Senate.
The Senate State Affairs Committee voted 8-1 to send the proposed bill to the full Senate around 5 a.m. Wednesday more than 270 public comments and after the committee gaveled in 20 hours ago.
The debate is over which locker room, shower or bathroom a transgender person can use; the one they choose or the one associated with their biological sex.
The committee was gaveled in on Tuesday about this controversial bill and they are still going.
One of the biggest proponents for this proposal's adoption into law is Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick.
And, there are many who back him.
However, that support was dwarfed by the number of those who want to see Senate Bill 6 go down in flames.
In fact, San Antonio had representatives speaking out against it.
