SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio Police Chief William McManus addressed the media Monday morning with updates in the capital murder of Detective Benjamin Marconi.

Chief McManus said SAPD has developed a suspect from surveillance video from the entrance of Public Safety Headquarters.

The suspect is a black male in his 20s. He is believed to be 5’8 to 5’10 with a goatee. In the video, he is wearing a dark jacket, baggy pants, and a Spurs hat.

Police are looking for a 2009-2010 Mitsubishi Galant with custom rims.

Chief McManus said the suspect is believed to be extremely dangerous to both police and the public. If you see the suspect, you are asked to call the police. Do not approach on your own.

At the moment, police do not know why the suspect was at headquarters, but they have several motives.

Chief McManus said that several people have been questioned and later released.

“We have pulled out all the stops,” said Chief McManus. “[The Search] will not stop until this person is in custody.”

Chief McManus said officers are doubling up until the suspect is in custody. It is not mandatory for two officers to be on patrol together, but the department is encouraging it for now.

SAPD says if you know anything, whether you think it is a small detail or not, you are urged to contact them at Crime Stoppers at 224-STOP or go to
