Coach Gregg Popovich is making Christmas-time headlines with another blunt analysis.
Not one to be sheepish when discussing his personal stance on...anything, Coach Pop had a very straightforward response when asked what he thought about giving back to the community. “Because we’re rich as hell and we don’t need it all, and other people need it. Then, you’re an a-- if you don’t give it. Pretty simple.”
The comments were tweeted out by ESPN's Michael C. Wright following a pre-game interview Tuesday.
It would appear that Coach Pop is all about sharing the [his] wealth. And he has definitely put his money where his mouth is.
Coach Pop has aided numerous charities, including helping the San Antonio food bank get 15,000 meals for kids last June. In a press conference, Coach Pop expressed his frustrations that so many local kids would go without meals. “To know that the kids are in this kind of situation is really not just sad, but it’s disgusting,” he said. “It’s our responsibility to make sure we take care of it, each and every one of us.”
And in this season of giving, it seems the message has been well received by many.
What do you think about his remarks?
