Pollo Tropical has permanently closed the doors to six restaurants in South Texas, including the remaining four in San Antonio.
The parent company Fiesta Restaurant Group, Inc., who also owns Taco Cabana, made the announcement in a press release Friday, the same day it closed the doors to the restaurants.
"The decision to close these restaurants was due to ongoing uncertainty in south Texas including the effects of Hurricane Harvey and limited awareness of the Pollo Tropical brand," the company said in the release.
The news comes after the company closed 30 of its restaurants across the states of Texas, Tennessee, and Georgia back in April.
The company said up to two of the closed restaurants may be rebranded as Taco Cabana, but did not indicate where this may be.
