Christmas will be hard this year for four children whose mother was murdered in their home.
San Antonio Police found the body of Idalia Celedon-Becerra, 29, in a house on Morales near West Martin and Northwest 24th Street on Monday.
Police arrested the woman's boyfriend, 40-year-old Paulo Gonzalez Chavez, Thursday night and charged him with murder.
Investigators say Chavez strangled Becerra in the house they shared on the city's west side.
Authorities say Chavez left a note.
The affidavit states that in the note, "the defendant proclaimed his love for the victim and claimed he did something stupid but it would not have happened had the victim not cheated on him."
Neighbors, who don't want to be identified are stunned.
"It's hard for our minds to think through, I think of both sides and what they must have gone through," said a neighbor.
Those who know the family are focusing on the four children Becerra left behind.
"She always had a beautiful smile and loved her children, always taking care of her children, Her life was about her children, we never saw her without her children," said a neighbor.
Nearby Lakeview Baptist Church is providing food and gifts for the children as they spend their first holiday without a mom.
"We need God, we need to love each other and treat others the way we want to be treated," said a neighbor.
Family friends told KENS 5 the children are living with a relative.
Chavez was still being processed into the Bexar County Jail Friday afternoon.
