Carry The Load arrives in San Antonio Sunday.

SAN ANTONIO -- Carry The Load core supporters were headed toward the HEB on W. Olmos Drive Sunday afternoon, with community members joining in to take part in the cause.

The walk begins at the HEB at 300 W. Olmos Drive at 5 p.m. Sunday. It will be followed with a victory rally from 7-8 p.m. at the La Quinta Inn at 303 Blum Street.

KENS 5 crews have been following Carry The Load since they arrived in west Texas this week.

On April 27, the western relay of Carry The Load kicked off in Seattle, marching and cycling across the country.

As KENS 5 reported, they're spreading the message of the true meaning of Memorial Day to San Angelo.

Carry The Load started in 2011 with about a 20-hour walking event in Dallas, then expanded the next year to include the national relay with the East Coast route.
