The mystery surrounding the death of a Trinity University student continues.
Cayley Mandadi, 19, died on Halloween in Luling.
The Texas Department of Public Safety says that the investigation into what happened to the college sophomore is still open. The medical examiner’s office in Kyle says that an autopsy on the deceased student has been completed but they are not releasing the findings because they say that they don’t want to compromise the investigation.
Among the questions unanswered is what she was doing an hour away from San Antonio on that day.
Students at Trinity are still mourning the loss of Mandadi and are still looking for answers as well.
“We’re eagerly awaiting, I think a lot of people are waiting for new information about it because it’s an ongoing case. So we’re not going to try to speculate too much about what happened but we’re looking forward to the authorities finding more information,” Trinity student Malcolm Fox said.
Students who knew Candadi describe her as very involved and well-liked on campus. She was a cheerleader and a member of the Chi Beta Epsilon sorority.
Because the incident didn’t take place on campus, Trinity officials say that they have little knowledge of the investigation or events leading to Candadi’s death.
