SAN ANTONIO -- If your kid doesn't have their back-to-school vaccines yet, University Health System's vaccine clinic on wheels is a good place to take them.

The bus will be set up at Gustafson Stadium in Northside ISD until 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24. You can click here to make a reservation, but walkups are also welcome.

"They'll be brought up to date and then they won't be due until their next round of vaccines," Crystal Estrello said.

Estrello has been working on the bus the past couple of days and says about 70 kids got their shots there on Monday.

If you're wondering why the first few days of school are so important to attend, NISD executive director of communications Pascual Gonzalez has the answer:

"[Kids] are starting to form that network and that friendship with the folks in their class, and so it's real important," he said. "We hate for kids to miss out on that first day experience."

Get their shots in time so they can have that experience.
