The 4th Annual Honor Run and Ride event took place at Trader's Village on Saturday to support the military.

The activities and entertainment included a 5k race, car show, and live bands. There was also a raffle with food and drinks.

KENS 5 talked to runner Lorenzo Perez, who said that he ran for his friend Army Sergeant 1st Class Gabriel Monreal, who lost part of his leg while in Afghanistan.

"He's a big inspiration to me. It's like he never lost his leg. I figure, if he can get up in the morning and put his leg on, there's no reason for me to do it for myself you know?" Perez said.

Organizers say that 90 percent of the proceeds will help send soldiers to Heroes Village, a retreat center designed to help the military members and their spouses work together to heal trauma.
