SAN ANTONIO - A fight from a failed relationship put an entire community at risk Tuesday night.
San Antonio police said an ex-boyfriend crashed into a gas line while trying to run his former girlfriend off the road at Huebner Road and Northwest Military Drive.
Police had to shut down a quarter mile of roadway because of a crash that could have killed this suspect and others.
The man was arrested at the scene and is facing charges of assault and criminal mischief.
Investigators said he tried to run his ex-girlfriend off the roadway Tuesday night following an argument.
He ended up crashing into a six-inch gas pipe. Police said you could hear the gas spewing out. That forced them to close down a portion of Northwest Military for about an hour until CPS Energy could repair the rupture.
No one had to be evacuated because it happened around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.
