A San Antonio man faces kidnapping charges after police say he tried to lure a child into his truck.

52-year-old Woodrow Williams, Jr. was driving closely behind a girl who was walking to De Zavala Elementary school on December 8th, police say.

A parent spotted the Williams talking to the child from his vehicle. When the parent called out to the girl, Williams sped away. The parent then contacted the police.

When police caught up with Williams, they found a handgun underneath the driver's seat and a box of cocaine in the back seat of the car. Along with a kidnapping charge, Williams also faces two charges for possession of a controlled substance and one charge for unlawful carry of a weapon.

Bexar County Criminal Court records indicate that Williams was previously arrested in 2010 for possession of a controlled substance.
