A former Bexar County Sheriff's deputy was sentenced on Tuesday to two years in state jail on a charge of improper sexual activity with a person in custody.
Erick Montez was arrested in 2016 after Bexar County officials said he coerced a female inmate into having sex with him.
He faced trial for two charges this past June. At that time, he was found not guilty of sexual assault but found guilty of improper sexual activity with a person in custody.
In addition to two years in jail, Montez must also pay a fine of $1,500.
