SUTHERLAND SPRINGS, Texas - Sutherland Springs is a town in healing and full of hope. This weekend is a sign of strength for the small community. The First Baptist Church sanctuary will open tomorrow as a memorial. It will also have a service just one week after losing 26 of its faithful.

A few days ago was the first time we saw First Baptist Church up-close. Crews started cleaning out the inside of the church. The sanctuary has been reconstructed and restored. Inside will be a memorial that celebrates and pays tribute to the lives lost. It will be open the to the public Sunday at 5 p.m. It will then be open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m.-10 p.m.

The church service will be on Sunday at 11 a.m. It was supposed to be held at the community center, but will now be at the baseball fields in the town. The congregants are inviting everyone to come and worship. It is not yet known if Pastor Frank Pomeroy will be conducting the service. The Pomeroy's daughter was one of the victims killed. He is expected to be there, and other religious leaders will be assisting.

Sunday is also proclaimed as a Day of Prayer in Texas by Governor Greg Abbott. Gov. Abbott also encourages Texans to participate in a moment of silence in honor of the shooting victims at 11:30 a.m.
