SAN ANTONIO - Families traveled from as far as Houston to visit Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Sunday.
It was that important to them to visit the gravesite of their fathers who served our country.
The Morenos are from Houston and honored their father, a Marine veteran, who recently passed away.
“We just lost him February,” Gloria Moreno said. “He was in the Marines way back in the day and we are very proud of him.”
So for them, it’s their first Father’s Day without their dad.
Considering San Antonio is Military City USA, traffic was backed up for miles at the cemetery as families patiently waited to place balloons, flowers, and flags on their fathers' tombstones.
