SAN ANTONIO - A teacher in the East Central Independent School District has resigned amid allegations that they were involved in an inappropriate relationship with a student, according to the school district.

ECISD said it began an investigation after administrators at East Central High School were "alerted" to a possible inappropriate teacher-student relationship.

Findings from that investigation were submitted to the East Central Police Department.

The district said, once a criminal investigation is complete, those findings will be forwarded to the Bexar County District Attorney's office for review.

The teacher in question was placed on administrative leave March 3, and has since resigned.

ECISD said the TEA will also be notified of these allegations.
