SAN ANTONIO -- is the number one go-to for holiday shoppers. The online retailer expects to pull in even more dough this season than ever.

The holiday shopping season is just days away and is ready.

"We focus on having holiday deals in general. Not just on those busy Black Friday timeframe but actually through Dec. 22," said Amazon spokesperson Julie Law.

Last year on cyber Monday alone Amazon customers ordered 54 million items. That's 629 items per second. And that translates into big bucks.

In recent years Amazon's U.S. sales have exploded. The company totaled $52 million in U.S. sales in 2013, $66 million in 2014, and $88 million last year.

But if you're looking for that special gift for that special someone at a special price, Amazon will have what they called lightning deals every five minutes.

"Limited time lightning deals or promotions that run for two or three hours and they start as often as every five minutes on Friday," Law said.

You can even set up alerts on your phone with the Amazon app.

If you're in need of a job to pay for those presents they've got that too.

"We have more than 3,500 job openings just for the holiday season in and around the San Antonio area so it's a lot of people we need to help," Law said.

So apply to be an Amazon elf at At least its warmer here than at the North Pole.
