It was all about rocking to the music on Saturday morning at Roosevelt Park, where San Antonio Sports hosted their 8th Annual Fit Family Challenge.

S.A. Sports is a non-profit that works to transform the community through sports by offering a free, 12-week program to communities in the San Antonio area.

“We’re very focused on eliminating the barriers to good health in San Antonio. The fact that we can put it in the areas that have the highest rates of obesity and diabetes is really important to us,” said Mary Ullmann Japhet with S.A. Sports.

Zumba, aqua Zumba, boot camp, and health screenings are some of the things that the entire family can enjoy.

“We want to meet people where they are. So if they are just getting off the couch around the block, that’s fine. We want you there,” Japhet said. “It’s so fun. We want to make exercise fun.”

“It’s a great opportunity to come out here on a Saturday morning and enjoy free Zumba and all the activities that there are,” participant Laura Mendoza said.

It’s also a great opportunity to win prizes. Saturday’s big winners took home a Fitbit and $1,000.
