SAN ANTONIO – The North East Independent School District is taking suggestions to rename Robert E. Lee High School.

According to NEISD’s website, the school board will be accepting new names for the high school over the next week.

The school board will be taking name suggestions through Sept. 25. To submit a name suggestion, you can fill out this form.

As for the submissions, the school board wrote on their website:

“The Board set forth criteria that the name should reflect an idea, not a person. Current examples within NEISD include Academy of Creative Education and International School of the Americas. Name submissions should embody a wholesome image that would be expected to stand the test of time. A proposed name should be welcoming and identifiable to the general public.”

The name change will take effect after the end of the 2017-2018 school year.
