Two Stockdale students arrested for making 'terroristic threat'

Stockdale ISD says that two students were arrested on Wednesday after they made "terroristic threats."

According to a statement from Stockdale ISD, two students were arrested for making a “terroristic threat” that forced the district to take extra precaution in protecting students on Wednesday.

Superintendent Dr. Daniel Fuller said that they received information about a threat on Tuesday night and the district took action by adding protection to a bus route mentioned in a report and added other security measured using local law enforcement.

The statement also says that no weapons were found and that no students, faculty, or staff were ever in danger because the threats were verbal.

But the district did say that two students were arrested and they encouraged parents to have conversations with their children about the dangers of making any kind of threats of violence.

Here is the full statement:

Last night at 8:44pm, we received information regarding possible threats that included bringing a gun to school. We immediately involved both city and county law enforcement officials for support and focused on the following priorities to ensure the safety of students, faculty, and staff:

1. We took necessary measures to ensure safe travel of the bus route that was directly involved in the report.

2. We ensured both City and County Law Enforcement Officials were involved for both security and investigative purposes.

3. We made every effort to communicate in a timely manner.

At no point in the investigation was a weapon of any kind found. At no point were students, faculty, or staff in danger as the allegations of threats were verbal.

At the conclusion of the investigation, two students were arrested on the basis of terroristic threat

I would encourage you as parents to have an age appropriate discussion with regard to the seriousness of this matter as many students may converse about such topics not knowing the possible repercussions.

Thank you for all that you do,

Daniel Fuller

Stockdale ISD

Daniel Fuller, M.Ed.
