San Antonio police were called to a shooting on the southeast side on Saturday afternoon.

According to police, a gunman opened fire on two people who were sitting in a car. Police say that the gunman fired five shots but no one was hit.

SAPD says that one victim fought with the gunman after the shots were fired and was pistol-whipped. The victim then reportedly escaped and went to a local business to call for help. The victim was treated on scene by first responders but refused to be taken to the hospital.

The second person in the car was not injured.

Police handcuffed a man at the scene and placed him in a police vehicle, but did not identify the man or explain why he was placed in handcuffs.
