2 separate $10,000 rewards offered by law enforcement for the suspect involved in shooting two Corpus Christi officers

The officer who was shot is said to be in intensive care, according to City Mayor Paulette Guajardo.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The US Marshals and Corpus Christi Crime Stoppers have both put out two separate rewards of $10,000 for anyone with information that can help lead to the arrest of 20-year-old Joshua Powell.

Powell is believed to be involved in the shooting of two officers on Wednesday in Corpus Christi. Authorities said he is armed and dangerous.

Around 12 p.m. on Thursday, the US Marshals put out a reward of $10,000.

Around 3 p.m. Thursday, Corpus Christi Crime Stoppers put out an additional $10,000 reward.

What happened:

The shooting happened just after 2 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 5900 block of Weber Road. Police were dispatched for a disturbance in progress. When then they arrived, police said the subject opened fire on the officers, striking one several times.

The officer who was struck has now been identified as Senior Officer Manuel Dominguez. He was taken to CHRISTUS Spohn Shoreline Hospital for treatment. Police said he is in stable condition, but on Thursday the Mayor's Office confirmed to 3News that Dominguez is being treated in the Intensive Care Unit.

Dominguez is a 20-year veteran of the Corpus Christi Police Department.
