It was a gruesome end to Halloween night in northern Bexar County as two bodies were found in a gated community late Tuesday evening.
Officials with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office are in the early stages of their investigation and are treated the case like a murder-suicide. They aren't ruling anything out, such as the possibility of this being a fight but it is too soon to tell.
Residents that live in the Fossil Ridge area say that this is a wake-up call.
When deputies got to the home, they found two bodies. A 47-year-old man at the doorstep and a woman inside a car.
"I am very sorry for the people who were involved because, obviously, they must have been unhappy," one neighbor said.
Investigators reportedly found a firearm next to the man. The spacious gated neighborhood has homes that start off at more than $500,000.
"It is an area of faith and traditional values," one resident said.
A crime scene isn't common in this area, and residents said that this is a lesson learned.
"I was just thinking about all the other people in other parts of town that deal with this almost on a daily basis, and we don't stop and think about what they are going through,” one woman said. “It is just as hard for them as it is for us.”
Investigators are trying to determine what happened before things escalated. They spent Wednesday interviewing neighbors.
The identities of the two people have not been released because investigators still need to alert another family member.
