SAN ANTONIO - On what would have been her son's 25th birthday, a mother is pleading for justice for her son who was murdered in 2016.

James Hernandez was gunned down during a home invasion last November.

"I'll never get over the fact of losing my only child," Trish Soto, said. "We fight the fight every day for him."

James' loved ones gathered to remember his life on Saturday and reminisced about the man he once was.

"He had a heart of gold and he was taught how to love with it," Soto said.

While hand-written letters and balloons were released into the air in celebration of his life, they're also pleas for justice in his death.

"Please someone, have heart, even if your conscience eats up at you, come forward with the right information," Trish pleaded. "He deserves justice."

Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest in this murder. If you know anything, call 224-STOP. You can remain anonymous.
