SAN ANTONIO - Abdi Abdi was sentenced to life in prison Monday after he pleaded guilty to the murder of 5-year-old Ana Garza.

As KENS 5 reported, Ana was shot while sleeping in her bed in the 800 block of Pecan Valley Drive in June 2016.

Ana's stepfather, Carlos Aguilar, was also gunned down in front of their home.

San Antonio police are searching for Abdi Abdi in connection with the shooting death of a 5-year-old.

She did not survive a gunshot wound to the head.

Abdi went to the home to rob Aguilar, according to an arrest document.

The San Antonio Police Department said Abdi confessed to Ana's murder on Facebook.

While he was originally charged with capital murder, Abdi took a plea deal for a lesser charge of murder and aggravated robbery.
