San Antonio – A local man is behind bars after he was arrested and charged with human trafficking and prostitution of a minor for an extended period of time.

Carlos Richard Villarreal, 39, is accused of sexually assaulting and forced prostitution of a girl who was 15 in 2015 when she met Villarreal through a friend, according to information in an affidavit.

The victim told investigators that Villarreal sold her crystal meth and heroin and she soon became addicted. She said that Villarreal then set her up on “dates” and took her to several motels in the south and northwest sides of San Antonio.

Investigators were provided with Facebook messages between Villarreal and the victim showing evidence of prostitution, price setting and locations where the prostitution happened.

The victim’s mother also showed investigators evidence showing that Villarreal drugged and prostituted her daughter. The woman reported to police that her daughter was missing several times in 2015 and eventually was able to locate her by accessing Facebook messages. She found her being held at a motel on S. Flores Street where she was with Villarreal and another man and was able to recover her.

Villarreal remains in custody at the Bexar County Jail.
