According to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office, several tips sent in from the community led to the arrest of Omar Hatfield, a suspect in the murder of Benjamin Ross, who was killed in May of 2014.

BCSO says that Hartfield confessed to the murder in a recent interview with investigators, saying that the deadly shooting came as the result of an argument over the theft of drugs.

The sheriff's office says that they believe many more people were involved in the murder, but no other arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

Hartfield was already in the Bexar County Jail serving time for unrelated parole violations when BCSO made the announcement.
