O'Connor football team surprises fan after no one attends his birthday party

When no one showed up to celebrate a 14-year-old's birthday, the O'Connor Panthers football team stepped up to celebrate one of their biggest fans.

When a story starts with a kid celebrating his birthday with no one showing up to a party, it usually doesn't have a happy ending.

But Diego Hernandez got his happy ending to celebrate his 14th birthday.

Over the weekend, his sister Marissa posted on Twitter that her brother invited some friends to a birthday party celebrating his 14th birthday only to have nobody show up.

Marissa implored "OC Nation" to help give him an unforgettable birthday surprise since her brother is a huge fan of O'Connor Panthers football and will be attending the school next year, hoping to make the team.

They obliged, and on Monday night, more than two dozen members of the team, as well as several other varsity athletes, surprised Diego at Aspen Creek.

His reaction was priceless and his mother and sister were incredibly thankful for the team and school's support.

Diego was given an O'Connor hoodie and cap, as well as a football signed by the team. Most importantly, according to his mother, the offensive line all took the time to talk to him, possibly getting quality time with a future teammate.
