SAN ANTONIO – What better way to cool off this summer than with some tasty raspas and ice cream.
And Big Daddy’s Eats & Treats is the perfect stop to fill your cravings.
Big Daddy’s is celebrating their Five Year Anniversary this year since opening up their first truck in July of 2012.
“We were hitting up the parks in a 1977 refurbished motorhome,” Founder and Owner of Big Daddy’s, Jaime Morales said. “We painted it bright San Antonio colors and started fixing up shaved ice in a new fashion and brought new and exciting things with ice cream and the mangonada.”
Some people like sweet and others sour, but Big Daddy’s brings you the perfect combination of both.
“We make the most piccadillies,” Morales said. “It’s a traditional cherry shaved ice with dill pickles, a special Kool-Aid powder that we use. It comes with change salt and chamoy as well.”

Along with two mobile trucks, you can visit Big Daddy’s three brick and mortar locations in Southtown, Lackland City and the northeast side. Morales said the business has remained booming thanks to social media and word of mouth.
If you’re a proud member of the #RaspaSquad you won’t want to miss June 13. It’s National Raspas Day and Big Daddy’s will be serving free small shaved ice at all their locations.
